Our Specialists
Courtney Raisio-Lopez, LMP
Courtney Raisio-Lopez took her massage therapy training at Ashmead College in 2003 and graduated with a 4.0 GPA in 2004. Since then she has practiced in a salon/spa environment and a chiropractic clinic before hearing about the opportunity with All About U Health and Wellness. She knew it would be the perfect place to help others reach their wellness goals. Courtney practices deep tissue, relaxation, pregnancy massage and reflexology.
Reflexology is a method for activating the healing powers of the body. It is both old and new. From ancient texts, illustrations, and artifacts, we know that the early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians worked on the feet to promote good health. The feet are a perfect mini map of the whole body. All the organs, glands and body parts represented in the foot are laid out in the same arrangement as in the body. Example: inside curve of the foot corresponds to the natural curves of the spine; toes, like little heads; the ridge beneath them on the top part of the ball of the foot is a natural shoulder or neck line; the waist tightens inward right where it should! The laying on of hands and the specific techniques for applying pressure to the feet create channels for healing energy to circulate to all parts of the body. Each foot has thirty three joints and is innervated by thousands of nerves. By using specific reflexology techniques, one directly affects the nervous system in a very positive, relaxing way. When the body is relaxed and the nervous system stimulated, healing has a perfect opportunity to take place.
